Educational Aims and objectives

The Architectural Project Course primordial focus lies in providing a wider operational and criticism amplitude regarding the aptitude for the upgrowth of architectural projects.

Expressively enlarging the knowledge and experience baseline through the discipline core, the course intends to deepen the competence and perceptiveness during the architectural project development, embracing the diversity of components and multiple complexity layers.

 

Syllabus

A project exercise will be labored along the two terms of each semester, regarding great architectural complexity within the transforming historical urban  context.

Approaching a diversity of functional programs (housing, servicing, trading and cultural) the assignment will be progressively and continually developed following the operational project scales and its constructive and formal materialization: scales 1:500, 1:200, 1:200, 1:50, 1:20.

Teaching Method and Evaluation

Biweekly project workshop classes will be continuously attended by two professorship's assistant teachers and complemented by the professorship's regent reviewing sessions and term ending sessions with invited teachers.

Invited teachers Seminars and Masterclasses represent an imperative theoretical complement to the arising project practical apprenticeship and its critical conception process.

Project workshops will likewise include the permanent Construction and Structures professorship support through the professors attendance as from the second semester.

The continuous assessment will be classified in a scale of 0 to 20 values.

Important evaluation factors:

The achieved project solution objective quality, regarding its conceptual and technical standards and the overall correspondence and coherence.

The concretion method and process.

The synthesis capacity and the subject critical sense.

The assiduity.
