ADALBERTO DIAS
Porto, Portugal, March 1953
Studied Architecture at the Escola Superior de Belas Artes do Porto.
He worked as a full time with the architect Siza Vieira where he completed his professional internship and has now subsequently started his own practice.
His projects have included both single family dwellings and multi-family apartment blocks and have included both major refurbishment and redevelopment projects, many of these have won architectural awards.
His work was published in books and specialist architectural publications; he participated in conferences in Portugal and abroad and in exhibitions in Portugal, Spain, France, Italy, Brazil and Japan.
He was Chief Architect in the area East A of the Porto’s Downtown Redevelopment - Porto, Capital of culture 2001.
He was nominated for several awards including: the Mies van der Rohe 96 Award, the Iberfad 96 Award, and the Secil Architecture 98 Award.
He worked also as an invited professor at Lausanne, Venice, Milan and Naples universities.
Currently he is also a Professor in the Faculty of Architecture, University of Porto.
